ADDC DR KATIA SCHENBERG

Dr Katia Schenberg attained her dental qualification at Griffith University and graduated with Honours in Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Science and Graduate Diploma in Dentistry with the Academic Excellence Award.

Katia prides herself on the highest possible standard of care in all her treatment. Katia has a special interest in oral surgery particularly in wisdom tooth extraction, difficult tooth extractions and pre-prosthetic surgery.

Katia gained clinical and surgical experience working in a number of hospitals and clinics since 2015. She spent a year as an Oral Surgery Resident at the Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne (RDHM) working in a team with surgeons, registrars and nurses to provide care for patients with complex medical, dental and social problems.

After completing her residency at RDHM, she worked for a further two years, in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department at RDHM as a Senior Resident Dentist. In addition, she worked as the first on-call for the emergency department at RDHM.

She has also worked as a locum Oral and Maxillofacial Registrar at the Royal Hobart Hospital and Western Hospital (Melbourne).

Katia has been involved in teaching oral surgery to dental students and new dental graduates through lectures, laboratory demonstrations and in the clinics at the University of Melbourne. Additionally, she gave presentations at Continuing Professional Education courses and academic sessions.

For the past seven years, Katia has been an active member of an Australian volunteer oral and maxillofacial surgical team, visiting two different hospitals in Vietnam. Over the course of eight trips, she has gained further exposure to oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Katia is currently studying Doctor of Medicine at the University of Western Australia.

Outside of dentistry, Katia enjoys spending time with her family and friends, keeping active, cooking, eating and live music.”
